I have been teaching dance since 2006 and started choreographing for competitive teams since 2010. I am lucky enough to have worked with some amazing dancers that have helped me win several awards over the years. Awards such as “Most Entertaining dance”, “Best Choreography”, “You Better Werk Award” , and numerous first place and over all awards. I am excited to start this new chapter in my life with Own The Stage Dance Academy family!
Teacher and Competition Choreographer
Ashley attended the University at Buffalo and was an active member of the university’s dance team, the Dazzlers. Shortly after the Dazzlers, Ashley auditioned and was blessed to cheer in the NFL. Ashley has been teaching recreational and competition dance for the past 6 years. Ashley’s competitive teams have won numerous judges and choreography awards, overall placements, and national titles! Ashley is excited to continue educating and sharing her love for dance at Own the Stage Academy.
Patrice has been teaching dance since 2000 and has experience in ballet, tap, hip hop, jazz, and tap. She has taught for multiple dance studios in Pittsboro, NC and Charlotte, NC. She was a Dance Caravan Kid for Hoctor’s Dance Caravan in 2002 traveling to 8 states performing and assisting professional dancers and teachers such as Barry Youngblood, Jeff Hill, Quentin Bolden, Freddy McGriff, Jerry Rose, Sonya and Susie Livingston, and Loree Russeau. Patrice has also danced in the Capital One Bowl which was televised.Has taught master classes at multiple dance studios in other states. Also she was a judge for The Dancer’s Spotlight competition and taught master classes for their convention. She has taught competitive dance since 2001 and won numerous awards from overalls, best costume, most energized, etc. She said she is excited to be joining the Own the Stage family!
Staisha Hamilton combines diverse creative expression with a strong sense of community service. As a classically trained dancer since the age of 3 her techniques include: ballet, jazz, modern, Afro- Caribbean and hip hop. She has performed in classic pieces like Swan Lake and the Nutcracker, studied at the Alvin Ailey School of Dance in 2007, as well as attended Dance Masters Intensive Program in Urbania, Italy in 2008. Staisha was a member of the 2008-2009 New York Dragons Dance Team in NYC. Upon moving to Charlotte in 2011 she was a member of the Velocity Girls Dance Team. In 2012 she had the opportunity to choreograph for the Charlotte Hounds Lacrosse team. She was also a member of the Charlotte Knights Dance Team from 2013 to 2015. As a teacher, Staisha has taught creative movement, ballet and hip hop dance to children and adults for several years.
